I was doing a project on Ancient Rome (Roman Army) for school and my history teacher said we needed to hand draw the pictures. I found out Rome had forts. However Rome has no forts in the game. So i went online to see how a Roman fort looked. And it looks like this http://www.qlhs.org.uk/past-events/holidays/northumbria-2005/hadrians/slides/Birdoswold%20Roman%20Fort.jpeg So I think you can re texture the French church. Looks kind of like it with the one tower. Maybe replace a stronghold with it?

Roman forts were either Castra (latin plural of Castrum) or Castella, the smaller forts.

Maybe, Roman also used existing fortifications, so this might once have been occupied by Romans, but it doesn't mean it's also Roman.

Still, that one looks to medieval. However, that little building there is never a castellum, it rather looks like a watch station, a barrack, nothing more. It could only be a part of a castrum or castellum.

Birdoswald looks rather German to me, but whatever.

A castrum could be indeed a little town. Lots of craftsman were needed and they settled down there. Especially the castra with stone fortifications were later on towns.

That looks like late medieval, not early medieval or Roman, to me.

Dang you, Dude! That is not a fort!

Like everybody has said, the CASTRUM was the real forts. I read a kiddy book on this, so I do believe I am an expert on the subject of late Roman fortifications. Rolling Eyes

(jk)

Anyways, the castrum is a bit complex for TAA.... perhaps a toned-down version?

Look I didn't say it was the whole fort. It probably a watch tower. But look a fort is a defense building. Most are massive But they sized it down in Age of Empires. I do agree it looks like a medieval structure but the facts do say it was Roman. I'm just giving an example of the fort even Tilanus said it was probably wasn't the whole fort. I checked it wasn't. But that would be a good example of like sizing it down for AOE3. This would be like a toed-down fort.

Well, I don't have any problem with it being a minor building. Smile Perhaps we (by which I mean the Team) could make a Mile Castle out of it, like Hadrian's Wall?

Awmygod. THANK YOU GUYS! for your help! Rolling Eyes

I know that "we" are a good "team". These stupid ways to suggest something will never stop to exist I fear. I dont know if I should laugh or cry, it's just so ... stupid!

NO, all suggestions made in this thread will NOT be realized by "us"/"the team".

What's go you all in a knot? coffee Perhaps I should have put in a smiley to make it obvious that it was a joke? I understand that not all suggestions are going to be implemented; like I've said before, modders will pick and choose.
