I tested that a while ago,and the result was pretty bad.AI only built walls correctly on some land maps,especially large ones.

For those that like to play defensive, it would be great if there was some kind of Age 4/Age 5 wall upgrade, or card that enabled this.

I saw a MOD once (extreme Fortifications MOD) where you could build the Fort Walls of the campaign...would be great to be able to upgrade to this with insane hitpoints so you could truly turtle and not just be blown to bits as soon as Mortars became available.

Also would be awesome if the AI would build walls. Thought I saw this done in a Mod once.

Great work everyone that works on this Mod by the way. Adds some fantastic features.

That'd be a bit historical since the time that AoE3 deals with is in which the downfall of fortifications above ground occured.

The problems with these walls is that they have two different sides. When you drag a wall in AoE3 though, the game is unable to recognize to which side the outer side of the wall would need to show. This is why we don't include these walls.

Hey Commodor, I think it's this mod (shown below).
Am I allowed to link it? (It's on the HeavenGames Website)

If not, it's called "N3O FP AI for TAD 1.03". It allows them to build walls.
There are other mods too, but I've seen this one used on ESO, (works without CRC mismatch for some reason)

Sure, you're allowed to link it. However, I think the AI would be better off spending its resources on units than defenses that will always be easy to overcome by human players.

I don't want to sound like I'm advertising this mod... :S
Edit: Edited to get rid of "advertising" sound, (Just in case)

But quick summary of what it does: (I'll leave out the other additions it includes) AI doesn't begin walling until they either hit age 4 or get attacked (whichever comes first). AI also only builds 1 layer of wall until age 4, for a maximum of two layers. They will also NOT upgrade the walls unless they have the resources 'lying around'

Hello Guys! I just want to tell my idea about having fort walls. i know that the problem about fort walls is that the game doesn't recognize the sides of fort walls, then what if we alter the art or the appearance of the fort wall and remove the depository looking side of the wall and make the 2 sides similar.
