Hello, This is a Poll about your favourite kind of music, this is an idea that I have, after posting in TnP.
Well, my favourite music is Rock, I like Argentinian singers/bands, like La Bersuit Vergarabat, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, Ataque 77... and singers like Andrés Calamaro, Fito Páez, Charly García and Gustavo "Pelado" Cordera. Also I like latinoamerican bands, like El Cuarteto de Nos, and Molotov, and The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Queen.
Also I like Classical Music, especially Mozart and Bach

Alternative and folk, as well as some other more synthy stuff. Indie music is quite good, in my opinion.

I don't really like the whole idea of genre. In my opinion, people should write what they want and not restrict themselves to the limiting confines of a specific genre.

It's kinda funny that you mention that, it's pretty much a description of what Sufjan Stevens plays.
I'd say instrumental, but I have no clear preferences, classic I guess?

True, but there are lots of good indie artists out there. The Shins, Sam Roberts, Death Cab, etc. I also really like completely vocal stuff like Cadence or the Kings Singers.

Ah, so you thought you could follow in my footsteps and create a popular topic out of thin air?

Sure, what the heck. My favorite kind of music is classical. Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven are my favorites. I also like some 60's, 70's, and a lot of the 80's rock, but mostly from American singers (although I do like Dexy's Midnight Runners who are from Britain I believe).

My favourite musician are the following:
Nightwish (Before and After Tarja, Annette just gives Nightwish a new style of songs)
Tarja - I just love her voice, it's just the uniqueness of it that makes her singing wonderful
Megaherz - Awesome German band.

I like rock music, even though Nightwish has been labeled as a metal group (Tarja opera metal), their music is more rock than metal.

I think it is interesting that when people set up different musical genres "classical" often is an option. That is "an option" in the meaning of "one option".

I suppose, but then many genres in the poll are very vague.

Yes, I suppose you could really split classical into Baroque, true Classical, and Romantic music. And rock could be split as well.

don't complain, the list is good. It's a forum poll afterall options are limited and nuances of tase are unimportant for the general overview: if you'd were to splitt up all genres accordingly it'd be pretty tiresome to see general tendencies.

I understand, but it's rather special that some genres are subdivided more than others. I'd go for this, if it's going to be generic anyway:

- Rock
- Classical
- Pop
- Hip Hop/Rap/R&B
- Jazz
- Dance
- Country/Folk/Traditional

true, whereas country is folk(american folk) and I'd really divide between heavy metal and rock, simply because of the difference between the fans themselves - only a connoisseur of calssical music can tell apart a mozart "fan" from a Bethoven "fan" but It's pretty easy to tell apart a devote Slayer fan from someone who likes Indie music.
