How is the new release going to relate to the old version of NE. Will we have to uninstall 2.01? or will it be like a hotfix?

You'll probably be able just to install the new version over your 2.01, we're cause we're not moving any files or something.

Ha, I'm glad to see you again! It's been quite a time. I guess it's a mixture of necessity and realization that pushes me this way. AoE3 simply was a badly designed game and the former NE team understood the mod itself as add-on to that - to a bad game. And I'm the evil guy with the axe, walking through the forest of arbitrariness. Wink

Understandable.

Basically, it's impossible to load saved games. You can save them, but it gives you the "X could not load" message when you try to open one. It's really annoying, and I've gone all through the files looking for the solution. I never have time to play a 1:30-long game in one sitting, so I would be very grateful if you could look into it.

Will there be any fixes to the American Colonial textures and the voices of the Americans? I like your German Banner army concept! Otherwise very good work!

I dont know, but i dont think that light cav shud have a bonus vs settlers. because heavy cav can hunt them down but i dont htink light cav shud be able to becauset hey are already good vs heavy cav.

That's the stupidest idea ever. (from a historical PoV of course Mr. Green )

Light cavalry is versatile and agile, and have been historically been pillaging villages since before the days of Rome. Heavy cavalry on the other hand is much slower, and the horse may not have enough stamina to chase people down all day, and carry a dude wearing a crap load of armor.

Can't argue with The Dude Mr. Green But with this addition, what will the ottoman card "irregulars" do? Just add more damage vs settlers?

I know what it does but i'm just wondering if players will want to send a card that increases the damage bonus vs settlers since it already has one.

Germany (or the Holy Roman Empire) is my favourite part in the mod, I have a few question about it:

Can German civ train single units or only banner armies (like the China civ?) ? If it can only train banner armies and all the banner armies requires 1xShip
, it will be very slow to train the army.

What is Verlorener Haufen exactly represented ? I think it may be a regiment of Landsknechts though I have never hear about this regiment.

Is this black and yellow one really the flag of Sachsen? In my impression , Sachsen is the state link to ... green ...

And at last I suggest change the Homecity name of German civ from Berlin to Frankfurt because Berlin seems to be a city of Prussia ( or Brandenburg).

No the HRE can also train from barracks like any other civ, they have some penalties there tho, which makes the addition of banner armies from the reichstag very welcome.

The "verlorene Haufen" or "Forlorn hope"(dutch) Company as they are called in M2TW. In english it would be "Lost Heap" (not hope Wink ). The lost heap is a troop of desperate soldiers, who are sent into a seemingly hopeless(no that's not where the word is from^^) situation like a charge into pikes and muskets or a defence against the odds.
Doppelsöldner, are Men who recieve double pay for taking bigger risks. Consequently it is likely to find a lot of doppelsöldner in such a company.
In france these companies were called lost children "enfants perdu"

The modern flag of saxony is green and white however when you look at the coat of arms(which is very old btw) you still see the balck and yellow, the Saxon flag had between 1356 and 1815.

Uhm, I thought we already did something like this^^ you're correct berlin is no suitable HC for the HRE in NE.
I'm rather sure it was changed to frankfurt... can't find the document right now Wink
