Woul dit be possible to update Rossiya to the way it was in the NApoleonic wars. The streletsy were retired in 1699, and by the time of the Emperor, Russia had a modern type army. I would like to see the streletsy replaced with maybe conscript (a graphic alteration of the cacadore or maybe the skirmisher). And give Russia a real heavy cav instead of Oprichni, maybe Tsar's Guard. And replace the Musketeer with Line Fusilier then give the option of upgrading to Preobrajensky Guards (guard upgrade). ANd the unit graphic could have dark green coats. the Collars and cuffs coud change colour for the different sides.

And please lose the Cavalry archer. THat's archaic to an extreme. Bring the Dragoon in.

Please.

There's already a unit called 'Conscript'.
I don't think we'll renew russia completely, cause now it's a really unique gameplay. People like it playing russia like this. We already redesigned the french and germans completely, that was a bunch of work. Making russia one of those imperial civs would be boring cause many civs will be like russia in later ages, that'd be very monotonous. It's too much standard, even if that standard was real. You're historically right.

I accept if Cavalry Archers are deleted from Russia and replaced with Dragoons. and pass Tatar Turk archers to the Ottomans:) However, Russia will be a bit OP about cavalry if Dragoon is used.

To Tilanus Commodor,

What do you mean by saying that you have already resigned England and France? have you made a new architecture for them?

Where did you read 'England' ? зм French and Germans are completely new civs, that means redesign.

Would it still be possible for me to create a secondary mod for Russia that's compatible with NE?

If so, how difficult is it to reskin?

I like the idea of changing Russia to a more modern style. Iv already stressed the need for a more elite soldier. Pavlovs need to be Russias secret infantry weapon Wink

No - no new architecture for germans and french.
No - no new russians.
Yes - it is difficult to reskin.
Yes - Russia is modern enough.
Yes - it would be possible to make a NE compatible mod, but we would not tolerate/appreciate it.
Yes - the next guy who wants his native country more modern and/or more elitary will feel my rage.

We'll release in the next days the new beta, so we won't change the Russians now. After the release we'll be busy with other things. Then we may think about changing the russians, but don't expect too much. I warn you, you'll need a thick skin if you want to see your version of russians in NE. You've to discuss with the whole team and I already don't like your idea. I may write another time more about that. And if I remember Swiss, I liked them, cause they were nothing like you want Russians to be.
Perfect, elitary, imperial standards are just boring. The first days will be fun, but then you'll not like it anymore cause you're always winning without any challenges and that's pretty dump. I'm awaiting your arguments.

I like the Swiss as they are. Wait, real world swiss or NE Swiss?

But I like Imperial elitiary standards. And anyway it would only be an exercise in replacing names adding petrine style models. And losing the medievel ones. Same playing style, but with a Napoleonic feel.

Us Russian! And what about ze Duitsens!

I like the NE Swiss of course, the real Swiss would have had no chance in our game and that's the same with russia. Gameplay = Historical Realism isn't such a good formula you may think. Really, who'd play Poles if they'd be the worst civ with a hallmark of excellence for guaranteed losing? Right, nobody, except some polish patriots maybe.

As I said, make your detailed suggestions and we'll discuss that.

Even if it is added lots of new units or unique units in NE, i disagree to delete units that has already been in the game. in NE 1.0, longbowmen were deleted because of historical facts during the period of game. Luckily, they won't be deleted in NE that will be released soon.

I have always agreed More Units = More Fun. However, if it doesn't corrupt the balance system or the realism at all.
