I don't see myself using it, but then, of course, it wouldn't be compulsory, so I'm perfectly fine with it...

I don't think I'm going to use it either, but who can deny it is a nice feature. Apparently though it will not include games that require an extra registration key, so we may see a rise in those.
I wonder what the developer community thinks of it. The positive bit is that people will play each other's games as demos, get interested and buy them for real, the negative that people will pool up and share games between them.
Imagine leaving a DNS test and finding out that your 'bros' actually are your brothers

The other way around, now that would be bad

Although Microsoft demonstrated it was a realistic idea with the xbox, I don't think their supposed "renewed efforts in gaming" actually will or would have involved a service and a system like this, and since it was a part of the Live subscription it wasn't entirely free either.
And the other major competitors are... What it does, perhaps, is making it even harder for anyone else to establish themselves. _________________

I think it sounds rather good. Valve can be trusted, at least more than EA. |

No one who wants your money can be trusted...
Maybe they'll remove it or impose limitations if they find sales drop too much.
I like owning the games I play though. _________________

False, nobody who wants anything from me (or me) can't be trusted.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind trying out games for a while before buying them myself to engage in co-op etc. |

I have a habit like SAOL. I like owning all my games, I have gone so far as to not renting a single game in my whole life. I always buy my games, although this habit does keep from trying new games and always makes me buy the same stuff I know and love over and over again. But hey i become a loyal customer !
Any fans of portable device playing? I recently got a 3DS XL, and I do enjoy it very much. Ironically enough I find it easier to find time to play my computer games than to play my 3DS. I do not like playing on the go very much, but I do enjoy some of the games which are exclusive to the portable device such as Kingdom Hearts. |

Now I have a phone, which I suppose qualifies in some way, but I rarely play games on it. A bit of Wordfeud. Occasionally Minesweeper. That's about it. _________________

The exception which confirms the rule, dear SAOL!
Hah, you still play Wordfeud? Haven't heard that one in a while xD |

I would say it does qualify, I used to be like you my phone was indeed my portable device. My 3DS being my first handheld counsel . However I don't know about minesweeper and wordfeud, I'm more of a doodle jumper. Who dosen't love to jump endlessly til time collapses? |

And yes, I do play it. So what? I'm not sensitive to trends. I always liked scrabble. I would beat you

Let me put it this way; the announcement that Assassin's Creed Liberation is coming to the PC was the best news I'd heard in years...

Peugeot is right again. I never liked portable gaming devices much - seems like you're paying for portability more than performance, which I don't approve of |

But if you want to carry your desktop (and a very long extension cord) around, be my guest
Personally I'm not sure they are going to be around much longer. Or at least not relevant in developed markets. Smartphones will replace them, despite having inferior controls in many ways. It's amazing how quickly stuff like that happens. I still remember when the Gameboy Color came out and was the new cool. Pokèmon everywhere. _________________

I never owned a Gameboy, but I distinctly remember how large the memory "cards" were; at today's rate you could probably get 2TB of storage in something that size...
