Hi guys,
I would love to see the Saracens (under the leadership of Salahuddin Ayubbi) as a civilization in NE, they were my favorite AoE 2 civ. I hope the timeline and stuff can be adjusted to fit them in. Salahuddin ruled upto about 1193 A.D. by the way.
I would like for them to be an arabic speaking muslim civ with of course the mamluke units if possible
I dont know if its possible but for guys like you it must be. Good luck and thanks for making NE!
If this is not possible at all then I would be happy with a Sunni-Muslim Arab civilization that fits into the timeline that are similar to the saracens.
No, but we have Persians and Ottomans are getting some serious improvements. Also there are some arabian natives.
Long answer:
Spoiler:
Saracens, Saladin, 1193 A.D., No sir! NE is not about the middle Ages, were no mod that just adds all the civs that ever were in games. for the same reasons we could add ... Mongols, Ancient Makedonians or Soviet Russia. It's just not Happening. The timeframe(of any game) is not just an arbitary boundery for creativity. it's the Basis of all following concepts in the game and gives the game flavour. You would not add Fries to a strawberry tart, just because you like fries.
If you want to Play with Medieval Saracens get "Knights and barbarians" a fellow mod for aoe3. _________________ Imagine not that these four walls contain the Mighty Owl of Thebes. For, gentles all, beauty sits most closely to them it can construe

Also I dont know why but i cant create an Ottoman city.
p.s. I read in a comment by commodore that the ottoman surgeon's tent's cross will be made a crescent (I would like this as it feels more ottoman)
Also are the basic civs like ottomans, germans and the "european" civs being upgraded?
Lastly how can I remove and reinstall NE? Must I delete the whole AoE 3 folder?
due to a hardcoded limit within th game you can't create new homecities for some civs, however the mod automatically creates a homecity for all civs. @chec: well they were never finished, but they were included in former versions of NE as a bonus. _________________ Imagine not that these four walls contain the Mighty Owl of Thebes. Thanks guys
1)lastly, when is the next official unofficial NE version coming? (that sound weird but my point is when is the next NE coming?)
2)Also will it be easily installable and removable with an install shield or will we again have to keep 2 folders?
3)Does uninstalling NE 1.00 by the install shield remove it completely?

2: DaBozz has been working on an awesome new installer. Having two folders will always probably be simpler though, especially than uninstalling every time young want to switch.
3: NE 1.0? You mean the really old version for those that don't have the expansion packs? I've got no idea, I've never even had it installed. As for the most current version, uninstallation usually works well.
PS

Really? My bad then, and my apologies for misunderstanding.
It's just that I know Da Bozz has been working on something like it before... and in my defence:

4.In the last Modding Report I told you about the upcoming NE 2.2 Patch, whose main improvement will be the automatic installer that works with Steam, custom and standard installation directories of AoE3 for both, PC and Mac. Our members kangcliff and Da Bozz have been doing some hard work to make that possible. Kudos to them! Cool Those two installers for either PC or Mac are nearly done now. Just some tweaking and designing left!

You are right, I had actually been working on it, but Tilanus decided to use kangcliffs. Probably because kangcliff's was a finished product, and mine rather half-concept and the rest cobbled together.
Still, we have great plans for the updates, hope it works the way we expect it.
