Hello everybody,
This is my first post over NE forums (but of course not my first time to visit the forums). This place has been very helpful for me in terms of modding & technical stuff related of AOE III. So guys can I use the Mangudai unit in my upcoming mod which will feature the Mongols (timurid) as a main civilization? Please Wink ? you can see screenshots below of Mongols along with Tamerlane, ,mangudai and some other units.

I do not why you cannot use the unit in your mod. Just give ne credit somewhere for the unit and everything will be good. So what is this mod exactly anyways?

Correct me if I'm wrong…
@Roy, I think the outpost has a "house" on top to have a similar look to the Mongols outposts/towers in AOE2.
@Streletsy, he's asking because not all mods allow people to use theirunits/designs. Way back in the old days, I was denied when asking if I could use a model for my "mini-addition". (It's not large enough to be a mod, so I won't call it that)

Raven… damn. That picture actually made me play AoE2 for 5 hours straight. That is coming along very nicely.

I don't think the Timurids use Yurts their architecture is really beautiful. The Northern Yuan, Four Oirats, Chagatai, Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyryzk Khanates use yurts.
What nations will your mod feature.
I hope it is an all mongolian mod.

Hey WhiteRaven, thanks a lot for your post! I really like these Yurts and your level of creativity is quite enjoyable (this cart with the yurt Mr. Green ). I see you take ownership serious and I'm thankful you're asking. Smile

I'm willing to let you use the Mangudai, but maybe you can give NE something in return? I could imagine we find a use for the male villager. Smile

You're not in any position to speak for NE's belongings and pretend you can grant other people usage permissions of NE content, so I only tell you once to stay out of this. You probably don't even know what it means when others take your work and make others think it'd be theirs. But how could you as a WoL fanboy, right? it's not like WoL would be a good role model in this regard..

Thanks alot for letting me use the Mangudai Smile . Sure you can use the villager freely & I would be happy to share it with you. In fact as i said I would setup moddb.com page within few days, so if you find anything else interesting I would be happy to share it with you.

Yes that tower resembles AOE II Asian tower, there will be some other building also looking like AGE 2 buildings (I think I was obsessed with AOE II Smile ).

I agree with you that Timurid had great architecture but Tamerlane bulk of army was coming from the mongol steppe lands (so in a way that should be close). The reason why I used yurt is because it feels much more mongol-like with yurts (Tamerlane himself was closer to mongols rather than muslim). Unfortunately there will be only Timurid Civ ... civilizations in the mod will include : Mongols, Persians (safari), Kongo Kingdom, Oyo Kingdom (African), Maltese) ... but there will be some other Mongol-descendant units as allies ( Crimean Cavalry for Ottomans and Kalmyk for Russians).

I'm struggling to understand the theme of your mod. You know, Timurids, Kongo, Oyo Empire, where you found the relation between them? I guess it is a mod set on XV and XVI centuries, maybe related to the Age of Discovery. Anyway you are making civilizations that no other mod has made still(as far as I know). Wish you good luck!

I know it's from aoe2. I just don't like how it looks. In fact I hate it. It bothers me. It's like if you slapped a Watermelon (🍉) on top of a cheeseburger (🍔) It would just be...odd. lol

I think it would be better if you make middle age or age of Mongol team.Because as firestorm said, I can't find any relations between the civs :\
