Hello, long time player (although not played the game since about 2009!) and modder here - I wondered whether anyone else had discovered the capacity (and lack of) for realism in the game?

After about 2 years' work I'd implemented realistic marching and reload speeds, accuracy, damage, lingering smoke, trees and buildings providing cover for units, tighter formations etc through a mix of db and xml editing...I wonder if anyone else has had similar results, or has worked around the problems I had (Cannons being exempt from accuracy rating, slowing reload speeds leading to slow animations, no more than 50 men per formation etc)

As the NE mod was the inspiration and basis for my exploring, I wondered if anyone had done the same!

Hey Francesco, the forum currently has technical problems right now. I deleted all the duplicate threads manually.

To answer your question: Yes, old NE member Yomgui made (with also NE being the initial code and asset base) the Hundred Days mod, which is quite realistic and focuses solely on the Napoleonic Wars. It's a cool mod you should try, but also know it's not AoE anymore.
