Anyone got any strategies for the swiss?
Does anyone know if the pop. limit will be fixed in beta 2.0?

I don't have one strategy, but I'll tell u some hints:

You start with 3 Foragers. Put them to each resource. The best is to put +1 Forager to food in Discovery Age (to advance faster). When you reach Colonial, quickly create another Supply Wagon (and another, and another,..). Build a Bivouac and then some troops (crossbows or Reislaufers). The best option are the Swiss Guard or Halberdiers. Additional Hussars (the last to train) are good for exploration, but not crucial.

Then u have 2 options: make a big army of hand inf., with no ranged one. Then u attack with this army and the Foragers (on Militia mode). But I suggest to use this only when you have big stockpiles, because your economy won't advance. The other option is to train Musketeers and Falconets (a more expensive option). Put the Hussars to harass enemy villagers.

I am not good at economic hints, somebody else will tell you that.

The pop. limit is a problem, but i don't know that this will be fixed in 2.0

I think the pop limit is supposed to be lower than 200. With a bit of cards, and a saloon tech, you can cranc it up to 160 or something like that. It is more urgent to lower the pop limit of sweden: there is little to nothing that can stop a extra big army of extra powerful soldiers.

And I lked the fact that you could build berry bushes. They have a lot of cards for berry picking.

agree with SAOL, lower op limit on swedes, because they have a good army (opposite to the Russians, that have 220 pop limit, because they have a shit-like army).

Now Back To Topic!

More hints:

My game has a problem with cards, but if SAOL says that there is a card about Berry Bushes, is a good way to send it ASAP. Also, researching the Tatzagunt, and the other techs after it, will be a good option.

Be sure that your army has all the troops I said. But their number is different from each tactic your enemy has (ex. build many Reislaufers, Swiss Guards and Swiss Pikemen if your enemy has alot of cav. Reislaufers may act like shit non-upgraded, but with the upgrades they need and in mass, they are one of the best pikemen in the game (Swiss Guards remain better, but they are more expensive).

Swiss guards do better vs. inf than cav in my opinion.

And what do you mean back to topic. Makeing examples is different from going off topic Neutral

a good strategy is to advance early to colonial as foragers pick food better than anyone, then rush to make a second supply wagon and a starting army, then go to fortress make a decent army upgrade them and use some powerful shipments, (include trickles to make your economy even better), get to industrial upgrade and make your army even better and you`ve won the game

oh and i forgot to say to upgrade the foragers to stealth, if your base it`s attacked, your foragers will be able to ambush enemies, enough for you to train more soldiers to defend, train artillery, (it`s better for me) if possible some grenadiers and horse guns and keep making troops as all the ones in the battle field die, if possible also train Hackapells like 20 it`s enough to end with a large enemy army that uses artillery

Swiss haven't got Horse Artillery, masskiller. And stealth is unuseful if your base is attacked, because if an enemy unit will by next to your forager, he'll lose the stealth ability

Ah, but the stealth can elp settlers hide on other parts of the map. It can be very useful.

Can all units see them? I thought it was only units with that ability, not normal units, that will say.

My two problems with Switzerland
1. No Market (No resource exchange)
2. Lower population (Can be made 200 with revolution.)
