I don't want to destroy your dreams guys, but ... this will never happen. ^^

The structure and the features are more than different, also the themes are. You'd have a missing link and no, you couldn't add the K&B mod for that instead.

No, the structure is totally different. While NE adds, TAA replaces as well. You'd have to make things undone, furthermore how would you differentiate the different times? You can't have different strings for one and the same thing (like the ages).

Of course you could integrate objects and techs from one mod into another, it's just the question if it makes sense or not and in my eyes TAA and NE are completely different, the ancient times and the industrial age. Now let's not mess up history please, leave it some dignity. Wink

You fools, don't you know the Knights & Barbarians mod? It's THE medieval mod for AoE3 and I don't intend to do more mods than TAA, it's not like picking up flowers one after another. I guess you don't have an idea how it's like to make a mod. The motivation, the team, the material, just get it done once, it's a hell of a job most of guys wouldn't like to try out.

Nobody's doing mods just cause ppl want them, it's something anyone wants for himself, thus and only cause of that he can do it with passion, passion is the key for a long-time motivation which is capable of resisting the mistakes and drawbacks of all the others. We're not talking about stupid peanuts. I think you guys have been gone too far with making plans for MY future.

Hahaha, no, of course not. I don't take money for it, I do it for myself and also for the Age Of Empires fans, for all people who like to play in ancient times in video games. This comes with a lot of expectations to myself, because I don't want to deceive these people and first of all not myself of course.

Recently I had a talk with Alexastor about modding and the motivation to do it. We agreed that there are on the one side the guys that just follow, the ones who want to be a part, help, because they like the idea or just want to have an own piece of the big cake and on the other side the guy who works with passion, who doesn't need a schedule, someone who's kicking up his ass. It's hard to find people of the second class, they're very rare and have - in most cases - already other business to do.

So if you take a look on how the team work of NE, TAA or any other mod has developed since the project's start, you'll see who these guys are and which are not.

However, to come back to your question, I've thought about making more stuff public, but a medal has always two sides. If I do that, I'm reducing the suspense factor and I just could/might take and work with the stuff the public help provides me. So I'm walking on a very thin line. I have to decide wisely which aspect I'm leaving to non-members. Wink
