I definitely kicked Mr. Jr.'s butt with langekerls. I'll admit, it was once. But I wouldn't say that they are bad units.

the landwehr are the villagers... that u can use also to fight with! they are powerful they own Wink
Basically it's really hard to rush a prussian. If you do the market upgrades u really can use them like troops Wink

Now, Prussia, is another great civ to play in treaty games like NR40 or NR55. In NR40 you can easily reach the 3100+ score. Again this tip is for online games only.

The way to go, is basically to aim a similar strategy as "Metis" French one.

Just some hints: Be sure to reach 99 villies before hitting industrial age. Because the next two age transitions can provide extra villies. Nevertheless its still maneagable to reach Imperial before the 20 min mark. A lot of practice is needed.

PROS:

Huge Eco, 99 villies, plus the extra ones, I believe you end up with 115, not so sure, maybe a bit more. Make sure you send Fur trade, at the 35 min mark, so you can make the research in time, troops, etc. I find the card that reduces research training time, quite effective. The only problem is the farm limit (Cool. So what I do, is put 80 on farm, and factories on food, and leave the rest on wood. I also leave always 5 villies on gold, for some upgrades. Just as a general note, I try to leave the Industrialism tech to research at the end, you dont want to be at 38min and waiting for shipment so that you can send Fur trade....It will be too late. Also, dont forget to delete some villies before treaty ends.

Great Military: DHH and LandKerls are a good combo. Just mix in some Knights and Schutze every now and then. Instant Cav.

Easy to Micro, even in treaty games.

CONS:

Military Gold Heavy: DHH is quite gold heavy and food. So use them wisely.

Build Limit for many buildings.

Instant Military, apart from the Cav, the rest is normal. So if you rely solely on artillery and infantry, make sure you use their build limit to its maximum effectiveness

Dont rely on the Landwehrs military status, even with all the cards its kinda useless in treaty. Not to mention a waste in cards.They are not as effective as the Swiss Followers.
