This idea is one I have been thinking a while on. Similar to the consulate for the Asian Empires, the Civs in TAA should be able to build Temples. At a temple, the player can choose what god to worship. This god will provide them with units, improvements etc.

For example, the Hellenes could choose Athena. She provides archer improvments, some units and an Olive Tree wagon, which would transform into a Olive Tree, from which wood or food can be gathered, like the rice paddy. Not sure about how possible this would be as I know little about AoE III modding.

We have temples planned already. In the features topic there's a bit about them.

We're using the Warchiefs firepit sytem to integrate praying - praying to different gods gives different bonuses.

Oh yeah, and this mod is historical - not mythological, so you should probably imagine temple dances as a placebo - because the soldiers think the gods are favouring them, their morale thus their combat ability is higher, etc.

So it's happening, just in a different sence.

Also, will I be able to play NE and TAA at the same time?

Not together, but you can play both without uninstalling the other. There are programs like Mod Enablers out there, also one for AoE3 on aoe3.heavengames.com. Additionally there are simple methods like renaming folders to make the desktop link start either NE, TAA, the original AoE3 or any other mod. Wink

If you're computer has at least 10 gigabytes of extra space, do the following:
- Install first mod.
- Back up your Age of Empires III folder.
- Uninstall first mod.
- Install second mod.
Whenever you want to switch, just switch your backup folder and your standard folder.

He can leave out the uninstalling as long as he likes to play the mod.

Before you install your first mod, make a backup of your original aoe3 folder (which is mostly in C:\Microsoft Games\Age Of Empires 3). You have two folders with the same content, mods will always be installed in the original directory (just the one mentioned before), also the desktop icon of AoE3 is linked to the executable of the original path. Thus you only have to change the folder names if you want to open another mod.

Would it be possible for me to create one shortcut leading to NE and the other leading to TAA?

It is possible, but I'm not sure if it'd would work due to the files inside this alternative folder relating each other.

from the perspecitve of an average fairly well informed Gamer, Yes. fromthe pesective of a IT expert, No.

the best way to solve this is to use the mod enabler, that way you save a lot if HDD and can switch fairly fast.

Im bringing this up... 2nd in a short while...

Well, how about a card (ex) To honour the goddess Athena you plant olive trees in your town/colony/city etc. (Gives one olive tree wagon, like the Indian tree gathering thingy and boosts olive gathering rate)

I like the temples in TAA. Kind of funny that the slaves dance around them.
