REQUIRED CARDS: 3 SWASHBUCKLERS
As soon as you get the 200 food, train 2 merchants to have 2 gatherers per resource. get some weak guarded treasures (from 3 treasures to 5). age up as soon as you get the resources. focus on wood, get 4 architects, build at least 4 outposts. if the enemy manages to attack, try to fight him back by shooting from the outposts. try to get as much merchants as you can, advance to the 3rd age. get a barrack, a stable and a church. get 2 inquisitors (they suck at fighting so don't rely on them), build a lot of houses, get 20 fusiliers. defend, build walls and collect resources. get the best native ally, train 10 natives (they take no population) to defend the trade post. as soon as you have the resources, advance in age. get 5 improvements (best if military and/or economic). build a artillery foundry, get 5 falconets, get fusiliers as many as possible. time for the age up (if you have the resources). as soon as you age up, make many improvements to the falconets. if you have any population left, get more falconets. get your inquisitors to find the enemy town(s), kill the explorer(s). if the enemy is strongly defended, and you have an ally,
order them to do quick assaults. finally, attack with your canons and soldiers. if you succeed, and there are some settlers left, build a capitol and get spies (usually cheap unless too much left) get the 3 swashbuckler card, hunt those settlers down. happy winnin'! Mr. Green

I'm a terrible strategist and I haven't tested this, but one thing I'd recommend is building a barracks and army earlier. Otherwise, it looks okay.

I can agree with sufjan. The defence seems to be a bit too passive and rely a bit too much on luck if you face a human.

On the other hand, I think it would work well vs the AI.

yea......i never tested it on human yet... (i cant play NE on-line because none has it there)
